Dr Pablo Lamata is the new technical lead for Paediatric Technologies

It is with great pleasure we announce that Dr Pablo Lamata has joined the Cardiovascular HTC as the new technical lead for the Paediatric Technology sub-theme. Dr Lamata is a Sir Henry Dale Research Fellow and lecturer at King’s College of London.

Dr Lamata’s scientific interest is the research of innovative imaging and modelling solutions for surgeons and physicians, and has 12 years of experience in the field. He specializes in the technical development and clinical adoption of image analysis, physiological modelling, and surgical simulation and navigation solutions. Recently Dr Lamata was interviewed by the Evening Standard highlighting his special interest in the Paediatric area (see link to the article). Dr Lamata is very passionate about his research and recently attended a reception event organised by Action Medical Research for children where he met the Duke  of Edinburgh and discussed his work and that of the Cardiovascular HTC (see link to the blog post).

In joining the HTC, Dr Lamata said “As a researcher it is extremely hard to see your efforts translated into clinical practice, and I am therefore pleased to join the HTC and contribute to the better coordination of forces between researchers, clinicians, companies and patients in our common goal towards an improved management of cardiovascular diseases.”
